A regional conversation

On 9 February 2026, the Sierra Leone Autistic Society, in collaboration with SFTH, organized an Autism Research Stakeholder Engagement at the Sierra Leone War Museum in Freetown.

Research that travels into practice

The engagement discussed the 2025 research on neurodiversity, lived experience and public policy in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Participants considered culturally responsive services, inclusive education, screening pathways and professional training.

Shared priorities

The gathering strengthened dialogue among families, researchers, government representatives and community organizations.
